STRATEGI KOMUNIKASI PENGELOLAAN OBJEK WISATA ROHANI BUKIT KELAM DI KABUPATEN SINTANG

Abstract


The problems that occur with communication strategy in Bukit Kelam Religious Tourism Object management is the competence of the staff, staff’s communication strategy, the setbacks that the staff must face, and the experience of the staff. The purpose of this research is to find and understand of staff in Bukit Kelam Religious Tourism Object management. This research is using qualitative research methods, with observation, interview guidebook and documentation as research instrument. From the result of this research, it is found that the managing staff of Bukit Kelam Religious Tourism Object’s competence is still low or not in accordance with the field of expertise and potential of each individual staff.  Communication strategies of staff are still subpar and only consist of information transfer from mouth to mouth and coordination meeting in Church. The setbacks that staff found in managing this tourism object is the amount of fund that available for developing the Tourism Object is still minimal so that the facility need is not fulfilled enough. The experience of the staff to work on task like keeping the safety, discipline, and cleanness of the tourism area is still minimal because the shortage of human powers that work fulltime. That problem make the tourism object unsafe and unclean. From that result, the Pastor as manager of the tourism object is doing a training to the staffs in order to increase the knowledge and experience so that the goal that has been set is achieved and to increase the communication strategy then publication as Kapuas Post. in managing Bukit Kelam Religious Tourism Object. The result achieved from the training is hoped to increase the popularity of the Tourism Object in society, either in Sintang Regency itself or in other regency, especially the regencies in West Kalimantan. Then, as the highest leader of the management, Bishop Agustinus Agus with other staff is expected to be more discipline in making and enforcing the rule (in example giving punishment for tourist that disobeying the rule or act as they like).
