Waste problem is not only technical problems, social, economic, and cultural, butalmost all aspects of community life including humans. In the mitigation is not only theresponsibility of government alone but a shared responsibility between the government andthe whole society, so in handling of course also be the participation of the entire community.The concept of participation can be measured through the planning phase, theimplementation phase and the deployment phase. When these stages when associated withthe waste management community participation in waste management is not only seen fromthe public participation in household waste collection, sorting waste into organic and nonorganicwaste scavenging activities, cleaning the environment from waste, transporting wasteto landfills while and utilize waste into useful items, participate and become a member of anorganization that deals with the problem of garbage and others. Broad local participation todo, when seen overall participation. Based on the concepts and theories that have beenproposed, the research aspects that can be presented in this study are (1) the participation ofthe waste problem, (2) The waste management organization (3) The technology used and themanagement of waste (4)Waste processed.The purpose of this study was (1) Want to know, and describes the participation of theproblem of waste management. Central District in the Village Siantan North PontianakPontianak, (2) What are the waste management organization developed by the community inthe Village of Central Siantan District North Pontianak Pontianak. (3) The technologyapplied by any community in waste management efforts in the area and (4) explore and knowthe different types of waste that have economic value to the family.
