DAMPAK BERITA HOAX DI MEDIA SOSIAL DALAM MEMPENGARUHI OPINI MAHASISWA PADA SAAT PEMILIHAN PRESIDEN DAN WAKIL PRESIDEN REPUBLIK INDONESIA TAHUN 2019

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan opini mahasiswa dalam menilai Dampak Berita Hoax di Media Sosial pada saat Pemilihan Presiden dan Wakil Presiden Republik Indoneisa Tahun 2019, yang dilakukan di Program Studi Ilmu Politik, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Tanjungpura Pontianak. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan metodologi kualitatif. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teori Zaller (1992) tentang Media dan Pembentukan Opini. Hasil penelitian menunjukan (1) Mahasiswa menerima dampak dari informasi hoax yang mempengeruhi opini mereka terhadap jalannya pemilihan presiden dan wakil presiden republik indonesia tahun 2019, (2) Mahasiswa melakukan perlawanan pada saat berita yang didapat tidak sejalan dengan pemikiran mereka, (3) Mahasiswa menilai dari hasil yang mereka terima terhadap berita yang membentuk opini mereka, selanjutnya hal tersebut dijadikan pertimbangan untuk menilai calon presiden dan wakil presiden, (4) Mahasiswa merespon bahwa apa yang telah diberitakan di YouTube dan banyak nya berita hoax berdampak dalam pembentukan opini mereka dalam menilai serta memilih calon pemimpin Negara.

ABSTRACT


This study amis to describe the opinions in assessing the Impact of Hoax News in Social Media during the Elections of the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2019, conducted at the Political Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Tanjungpura University, Pontianak. This study is a type of descriptive research with a qualitative methodology. The theory used in this study is the theory of Zaller (1992) about Media and Opinion Formation. The results showed that (1) Students received the impact of hoax information that affected their opinions on the course of the Elections of President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2019, (2) Students put up resistance when the news they received was not in line with their thoughts, (3) Students assessed from the results they received on the news that shape their opinions, then it was taken into consideration to evaluate the presidential and vice presidential candidates, (4) Students responded that was has been reported on YouTube and the news hoaxes had an impact on the formation of their opinions in evaluating and electing potential leaders of the State.
