FUNGSI PREVENTIF PATROLI BRIMOB DALAM PENANGGULANGAN TINDAKAN KEJAHATAN

Abstract

The problem in this study is the lack of public knowledge about the importance of security. Society should not just leave the task kamtibmas to police, but the community must also play a role in maintaining security in addition to the presence of people who are reluctant to report or provide information about the will or under or after the occurrence of a crime and more to avoid as much as possible to deal with the police, because police action that always cause a negative image amongst the people. This study aims to describe the functions performed by the Preventive Patrol Police Mobile Brigade unit in District Pontianak Kalimantan with a qualitative approach. The results that the function Brimob patrol in crime prevention can narrow the space for the occurrence of crime in the District of North Pontianak. The suggestions in this study, in order to increase the intensity of police patrols and the number of personnel. This is necessary because the crime happened so fast movements. With ditambahnya intensity of patrols and the addition of personnel is expected to narrow the space for criminals, so the crime goes down.
